In this panel, experiences of the countries of the region will be presented to show the diversity of approaches taken to territorial development policies.
This panel will analyse the information systems of the countries of the region and their various sources (ministries and secretariats of planning, geographical institutes) for strengthening capacities to produce georeferenced information and data for follow-up to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this panel, countries from the region will review the contribution made by decentralization processes to the public spending capacity of subnational governments and the reduction of territorial inequalities in well-being, as well as the need to create financing mechanisms commensurate with the challenges of climate change.
This panel will include presentations on the strategies and experiences of the countries of the region on the territorialization of the 2030 Agenda, the challenges that have been encountered and the opportunities that should be seized to reduce equality gaps between territories.
This panel will examine the territorial challenges of the Caribbean in relation to natural risks and vulnerabilities, as well as the need to strengthen capacities and resilience. Attention will be drawn to the magnitude of the risks and the social, economic and institutional costs, and emphasis will be placed on the need for commitment to resilience planning commensurate with the challenges.
