Background
The Regional Council for Planning (RCP) is the intergovernmental subsidiary body that guides the activities of the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES).
Its meetings are attended by the Ministers or Heads of Planning of the member States of the Institute. Their agreements are recorded in resolutions ratified at the sessions of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
The Conference of Ministers and Heads of Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean takes place within the framework of the Meeting of the Regional Council for Planning. Together, the Conference and the Meeting of the Regional Council for Planning provide an opportunity to analyze relevant issues related to development planning in the countries of the region and to review the progress made on the activities carried out by ILPES.
