The Regional Council for Planning is a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and governs the activities of the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES). It comprises the ministers or heads of planning of the Council’s Latin American and Caribbean member States. The agreements of the Council are set forth in resolutions, which are ratified by ECLAC at its biennial sessions. 

The twentieth meeting of the Regional Council for Planning of the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES) and the nineteenth Conference of Ministers and Heads of Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean will be held in Brasília on 2 and 3 October 2025. Prior to these events, on 1 October, a session will be held on foresight, anticipatory governance and the Pact for the Future.

Meeting venue

The twentieth meeting of the Regional Council for Planning of ILPES, the nineteenth Conference of Ministers and Heads of Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean and the session on foresight, anticipatory governance and the Pact for the Future will be held at the headquarters of Banco do Brasil.
